A chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Hon. Olumide Jones has concluded plans to give over 3000 indegenes of Ogun State free eye test and 500 free cataract operations.
The program which will hold between 26th and 27th of this month at Centenary Hall Ake, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Olumide Jones said that it was part of his efforts to reduce incidence of avoidable blindness in the society.
He added that it is borne out of the need to improve the health conditions of the people and based on the understanding that many people do not take good care of their eyes despite the importance of the eyes to life of every individual.
According to him, the outreach will also support and put smiles on the faces of others by helping them not only with screening, but also with treatment and medications in furtherance of its efforts to fill the vacuum in the health sector towards producing an environment filled with healthy people.
