Gov. Abiodun is committed to effective budgeting for top fiscal performance, says Olabimtan

Governor Dapo Abiodun led administration in Ogun State has explained why the performance of successive annual budgets of the state continued to record tremendous improvement.

The Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Olaolu Olabimtan at this year Budget Breakdown Media Parley at the Olusegun Osoba Press Centre in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta explained that the yearly budget performance of the state continued to record improvement due to the visionary, exemplary leadership and support of Governor Dapo Abiodun.

The commissioner restated the commitment of Prince Dapo Abiodun’s government to infrastructural development across the three Senatorial Districts, just as it promises prudent funding in the execution of projects.

Mr. Olabimtan said the state economic team was strategic about management of debts for survival and development purposes, adding that the present administration would continue to strive towards achieving the sectoral global benchmarks.

Earlier, the Chief Economic Adviser and Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo, while giving an overview of the state’s fiscal policy, noted that the present administration had been deliberate in dealing with serious economic challenges, such as high inflation, insecurity, dearth of infrastructure, among others.

Okubadejo pointed out that the administration was leveraging on the state’s Comparative Advantage, adding that the present administration was aware of reducing bottlenecks associated with cost of production through the creation of efficient Logistics, creation of Knowledge and Innovation Hubs, while optimising the advantage of being the state with the highest public and private institutions.

“Our target as a government is to be the most economically viable state. We are set to open up our Economic Development Clusters with significant economic activities; we needed to have a master plan, be careful with debt and continue to be very strategic in our collective effort to develop the state to an enviable height among its peers”, he said.
