Ogun NNPP Threatens To Send OGISEC Officials To Prison Over LG Polls

The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has accused the Ogun state Independent Electoral Commission (OGISEC) of supporting the state government in rigging the just concluded Local governments elections in the state.


The Chairman of the party, Sunday Olaposi Ogini in a Press conference in Abeokuta, the state capital on Tuesday threatened to send officials of the Commission to prison, insisting that that’s where they belong. 


Ogini said he was disappointed in the commission for serving as a tool in the hand of the state government to rig the elections.


He described the OGISEC officials as candidates of prison, insisting that the NNPP would not hesitate to send them there.


He said “This OGISEC officials that they used to do this rigging are candidates of prison and will send them to the prison. 


“The Electoral act is very clear that when an officer is seem to have perpetrated fraud such officer will face the wrought of the law. 


“In 2019, some INEC officials were imprisoned so some of the OGISEC officials are set for prison and we will send them there.
