The Newly Elected Chairman of Ijebu-North-East Local Government of Ogun state, Hon. Foluso Badejo on Monday pledged to take the state’s agricultural produce from his Local government beyond the shores of Nigeria.

Badejo disclosed this shortly after receiving his certificate of return at the Secretariat of the Ogun State Independent Electorates Commission (OGISEC) in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.

He is one of the 20 successful Chairmanship candidates on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just concluded Local government elections held on Saturday.

The Chairman said that through out his three years in office he would exclusively work in tandem with Governor Dapo Abiodun’s agenda of transforming the state.

His words: “Our plans for the pepe of Ijebu-North-East  are very high. Part of our plans is to butress what Governor Dapo Abiodun has already started in the state.

According to him, with or without local government autonomy, his adminstration would kick the ground running in the interest of the people he represent.

” If the local government autonomy is granted because Governor Abiodun has shown us the path to follow. I am particularly delighted in the governor because of what I am seeing in the state.

For Badejo, Dapo Abiodun’s administration is a perfect example for any local government Chairman that wants to succeed, adding that he would align with the governor’s vision to move the local government forward.

He said “In terms of Agriculture, Ijebu-North-East is doing fine and the current administration is focusing on that to improve the economy of the state.

“We are going to move to the level by adding value to what we have on ground. Since our strength is in the area of agriculture, we are going to focus on that.

“We are going to move beyond production to how we can add value to what we produce. We will focus on how we can move our products beyond the shores of this country.
