Ogun LG Polls: OGYASD Reacts To Victories, Sends Message To Newly Elected Chairmen

The Ogun Youth Advocate for Social Development on Sunday reacted to the just-concluded Local government elections held in the state yesterday, describing it as a reflection of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s transparency and just adminstration.

The President of the Group, Comrade Oluseyi Alamu in his congratulatory message to all successful candidates underscored the exercise as free and fair with a clarion call to all the newly elected Chairmen to see the office as opportunity to butress Abiodun’s transformation agenda.

Alamu charged the party’s faithful and stakeholders to rally support for the new Chairmen, adding that those who contracted on the platform of other parties should not consider the victory as a defeat on their party but to look forward to 2023.

His words “After the elections what should be the paramount for the incumbent Chairmen is the interest of the people of their various local governments and wards”.

“I am happy that we had a free and fair elections in Ogun. This is a sign of Governor Abiodun’s transparent leadership style.

“No state can prosper in the absence of democracy. The local government exercise in Ogun has further proven that in Ogun, we believe in democracy.

“I congratulate all the winners and new Chairmen. Their victory is divine, however, they must see it as a call to serve the people better and not a call to enrich their individual pockets.

“I also want to appeal to them to continue the good works that the outgoing Transition Chairmen started. It’s been amazing and a privilege having those people at the Caretaker capacity, they really served us well.

“OGYASD wishes to say that we looking forward to better performance from all the newly elected Chairmen in all the 20 local governments.”
