A Councilorship aspirant for Ward 9, Abeokuta North Local Government, Comrade Ogunkunle Ibrahim has accused the ward Chairman, Alhaji Akeem Shobayo of imposing Councillorship Candidate on people of the ward against their wish.
Ibrahim also alleged that Shobayo wants to use the immunity for being the Chairman to rule against the fair decision of APC’s screening committee in the ward.
According to Ibrahim, amongst other aspirant in the race, he was the people’s choice when it comes to Councillorship candidate.
He stressed that APC screening committee in the ward voted for him as the councilor but the Chairman conducted his own kangaroo election to impose his candidate on the people.
He said “The party Chairman Shobayo wants to use the immunity for being the Chairman to impose candidate in ward 9 Abeokuta North local government. Since the inception of APC , have been in AD mobilizing people to join the party.
“I have been chosen by the screening committee as the right candidate in ward 9 Abeokuta North local government.
“They did a kangaroo election, in which people are against it .The screening committee voted for me as the Councillor ward 9 Abeokuta North.”The people are against all what they are saying, and they later abscond.As at the time of filling this report all call to hear from Shobayo concerning the allegation made against him proved abortive as he did not pick all calls put across to him via phone.
