On Thursday, 18th March, 2021, his Excellency the Governor of OGUN State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, inaugurated the six members of the OGUN State Independent Electoral Commission with Babatunde Osibodu as the chairman. A solid proof that the Local Government elections in the state is to kick and start.
Owing to this, we are to determine our fate through an electoral process by voting for a viable candidate.
Abeokuta south been a local government in the state capital, there is the need to put into power a candidate we can trust, one who has been in grassroots politics and an ardent supporter of His excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
It is imperative to take note that for a very long time, the youths have been clamouring for one of their own to take on the baton of affairs at major stakes of governance.
What a better time than now!
The youths in Abeokuta South Local Government is strongly advocating that all stake holders and well meaning party leaders and party faithfuls including all citizens of the state should rally round and give their support to Hon. Mustapha Kodaolu Olajide aka MKO.
Hon. Mustapha Kodaolu served as a Councillor for Ward 9 in Abeokuta South Local Government in Ogun State for three years
During the previous Administration, he served as the Leader of the House while as Councillor, and was also elected Chairman of All Ogun State Councillors.
He hails from ward 4, Emere zone, where his Father Alh. Chief Muhammad Okikiola comes from.
During this period and even beyond, his position provided an avenue to make an impact in rural and urban renovation, governance process improvements using technology, digital inclusion, tax consolidation and IGR enhancement, as well as setting the pace for Public-Private partnership.
Having been in grass-root politics for up to ten years, undoubtedly a loyal APC member from day one of his active political career.
With recent agitation to actively support the youth, MKO is a relevant youth with vast experience. This makes him desirable to all.
Talking about his grass root, as a fresh graduate of Business Management From the South Chelsea College in United Kingdom, he came to his home and base at Kuto, he saw the need for the reconstruction of a road bridge to lessen the stress and burden of commuters and pedestrians.
He solely sponsored the construction of this bridge as an individual without expecting any reward or gain.
As a councillor in the period of 2016-2019, he brought in free malaria test, eye test, blood and HIV test. With free treatment for those who tested positive to malaria.
Due to his giant strides, he got elevated to the leader of the house and chairman of all OGUN State councillors. The wealth of experience gathered therein cannot be overemphasised.
As the leader of all councillors, he went to various local government area in OGUN state settling local government matters as the need arises.
Hon. Mustapha Kodaolu Olajide aka MKO, right from the beginning of his political career in OGUN State never defected. Since his involvement in active politics, he has been a loyal party member.
MKO has never sat on the fence neither did he became a doubting Thomas who crosses at will based on which party wins.
We the youth, without division, call on all party faithfuls and leaders to support this Vibrant Young man, who to Many has become the bridge builder and the unifying point of Abeokuta South local government.
We say in one voice, “LET’S GIVE THE YOUTH A CHANCE”.
“LET’S GIVE Hon. Mustapha Kodaolu Olajide aka MKO a chance,and he surely will not disappoint”.
