APC Youth Wing Empowers 100 Youths In Abeokuta North LG

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Ogun State chapter has empowered no fewer than 100 unemployed youths in Abeokuta North Local Government of the state in different trade.

The beneficiaries who were selected from the 16 ward in the Local government were trained in different vocations, ranging from barbing, make-up, hair dressing, manicure and pedicure among others.

The Newly Appointed Caretaker Chairman for the Party in Abeokuta North Local Government, Alhaji Akeem Sobayo who facilitated the programme said the it was an initiative geared towards empowering the youths to give them meaningful life in the society.

Sobayo disclosed that the beneficiaries, after the training would be given some money to establish themselves.

He said “We have a programme that we tagged youths week in Abeokuta North Local Government. The programme that is going on is to empower the youths, we don’t want to give people fish, we are teaching them how to catch fish.

” We are training them in barbing, pedicure and manicure, and a lot of others, after this programme, we are going to empower them. The programme was facilitated by all our aspirants and leaders.

One of the beneficiary, Ebunoluwa Motunrayo said “I’m undergoing pedicure and manicure . The training has been interesting, learning something new and something different from what you already know.

“I’m very grateful for learning this training and I’m very sure at the end of the week I’ll be bold with something. Immediately when I’m done with the training I’ll make use of it .

Another, Dayo Kareem said “I came here to learn barbing , we started yesterday. I thank God Almighty, the new APC Chairman Abeokuta North Local Government and our Local Government Youth Leader Comrade Akinbo Solomon for his good initiative towards the youth in Abeokuta North Local Government as a whole for giving me this opportunity because most youths don’t have job to do .

“I’m very happy for this opportunity because after this training we will be empowered. This opportunity will reduce unemployment in the society” he concluded.
