
As Nigerians celebrate the festive period amidst covid-19 pandemic, the Senior Special Assistant on Media to Romo in Ogun State, Femi Akinlawon has appealed to the people of the state to celebrate the new year with strict adherence to the state government’s directives that forbids large social gathering in order to stay safe.
Akinlawon, while speaking to Journalists in Abeokuta the Ogun State capital on Monday lamented that during the Christmas fetival, significant number of people contacted the virus at different social gathering as a result of disobedience.
He enjoyed people to take the federal government’s directives on covid-19 very seriously by washing their hands regularly and maintaining social distancing.
Akinlawon equally appealed to owners of social centres in the state not to breached the state government law by accommodating mammoth customers.
His words “It is important we strictly adhere to Government’s directives on covid-19, especially during this festive period.
“We can only celebrate another festive period if we stay alive now and this can happen only if we are obedient enough.
The Romo SSA charged citizens of the state to support the government of Prince Dapo Abiodun, adding that the only way to encourage him to do more is by flaunting their support for him.
He said ‘This administration is for all of us and things can only get better if we support Prince Dapo Abiodun and with this, we are encouraging him to do more.
