Ogun Transition Chairman, Shomide Lays Foundation Of Health Care Center In Abeokuta South

Somide, laying the foundation of the Primary Health Care Centre

The Chairman, Transition Committee Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Ayodeji Shomide has performed another Landmark achievement, today as he lay the foundation of a primary Health Care Centre at Oke-Egunya road,
Ago Oba (Ward 13) of Abeokuta South Local Government.

He said the yearning and aspirations of the people in the local government cannot be ignored, hence the envision of having accessible and affordable healthcare services across the nooks and crannies of the local government area.

He, however, assured the people that the project will be completed within a shortest period of time.
He therefore appeal to the honourable Commissioner for health to assist in equipping Health Centre with the State of the art facilities for the benefit of the masses when completed.

Speaking earlier, the governor of Ogun State his Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, who was ably represented by the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy affairs, Hon. Moruf Afuape disclosed that, the government has concluded plans to ensure one primary healthcare is built in each of the 236 wards of the state.

Also at the event, the Commissioner for Health, Mrs. Tomi Coker, assured the people that the ministry of health through the Governor will ensure the centre is well equipped with modern facilities.

Hon. Shomide therefore thanked his Excellency, prince Dapo Abiodun MFR for the enabling environment he afforded them to give the people assuring him of their unflinching support to build a better future for the State.

Other dignitaries present at the occasion are: Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Mrs. Longe, former speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Mrs Titi Oseni, Alhaji Muyideen Soremekun, Member Ogun State Governor elder’s forum and Alhaji Nurudeen Olaleye, chairman Ogun State Trado medicines.

Meanwhile, a member of All Progressive Congress in the state who is also a chairmanship aspirant Abeokuta south local government, Hon. Farouq Akintunde appreciated Prince Dapo Abiodun for making the local government to be alive to their constitutional responsibilities unlike the last administration where local government is reduced to salary paying centres.

Farouq also commended the transition Chairman for this worthwhile initiative to provide maternity centres for the good people of ward 13 and to a large extent Abeokuta south.

He submitted that Shomide’s administration is open for people’s yearnings.

He therefore called on all residents of Abeokuta South to continue to give him the necessary support that will enable him to do more
